The Home That Love Made” - led by the Rev. Anya Sammler-Michael, senior co-minister. Most of the commitments that we make are grounded in relationships of love. Love compels us to make promises. It links us to others. It forges connections that we refuse to forsake. This congregation is the home that love made. Our service offers solace after the attacks of hate near and far, our choir will sing, and we will hear testimony.
“The Time is Always Right to Do What is Right” — led by the Rev. Anya Sammler-Michael, senior co-minister. Dr. King used his time wisely, doing what was right, not when it was convenient, but when it was necessary. The Friends of the Howe House have learned that doing what is right is an urgent demand that only a coalition joined in a network of mutuality can fulfill.
"Christmas Presence" - led by the Rev. Anya Sammler-Michael, senior co-minister. This is the time of the year for story telling. In ancient cultures stories were shared only during the dark and cold months of the year - times when warm hearth fires drew people close to one another in community.
“Joy! Holiday Pageantry and Faithful Preparation”— led by the Rev. Anya Sammler-Michael, senior co-minister and Judith Hogan, religious education director. All ages are engaged in worship as we together become the no-rehearsal-holiday-pageant! We will share joy and moments of wonder and awe as our Family Choir sings and an ageless story is told.
“How We Are Changed Together” - led by the Rev. Anya Sammler-Michael. This is the Sunday for our annual Harvest Bread Communion. Bakers have prepared loaves from their own traditions, and members at different stages will testify to their experience of being changed as a result of their engagement with our congregation. We will also hold a Naming Ceremony for transgender, gender non-conforming and gender queer individuals, we will recognize the departure of Administrator Danielle Carlo, our Choir will sing, and our Coming of Age Class will participate in various aspects of our service.
